The Business Side of Lasers with Tsungi Conn, MBA, CPA and Owner of Face Amorè Med Spa

Tsungi Conn is Co-Owner and Founder of Face Amorè. She fell in love with the art of making people beautiful at a very early age when became the family go-to person for all things beauty--from hair to make-up to skincare. Her love of this industry prompted her to embark on her first business venture of opening one of the hottest salons in Northern Indiana at the age of 21--at the same time as she was pursuing her Bachelor’s degree from Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business. After graduation she continued to educate herself on the industry, as well as hone in on her business skills by working as an accountant for Ernst and Young. While working as an accountant she noticed her strengths were in mergers, acquisitions and due diligence. This afforded her the opportunity to learn about business processes and what the key components are of a successful business venture. After acquiring her MBA she decided it was time to expand her knowledge of the industry she loved so much. In 2017 she opened her first medspa and was able to grow that business to $600k in its first year. This brought the attention of a physician who approached her about starting a new medspa with more advanced treatments. In 2019 she opened Face Amorè with zero patients and has grown that business even through a pandemic by sticking true to her philosophy of investing in something you love and by employing the appropriate mix of modalities and provider expertise. In 2020 Face Amorè purchased its first laser because of the vast amount of treatments the equipment could provide and the efficacy of those treatments. In 2020 Face Amorè realized a 50% increase in its revenues, mostly attributable to the treatments it was able to provide its patients. From hair removal to 4D Rejuvenation, there has not been a business day that the laser wasn’t in use. With proper training, marketing, and business knowledge this laser has afforded Face Amorè the opportunity of now opening an surgical center in 2021.
